General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS)
GTFS or General Transit Feed Specification is an open standard for representing public transportation schedules, fares and geographical information. EACOMM Corporation has been developing transit GTFS feeds compliant with Google Maps and Open Trip Planner since 2012. EACOMM has utilized several methodologies in developing GTFS feeds, from using mobile apps to assist in data gathering, to developing custom software to extract and automate transit feed creation from GIS shape files. EACOMM has also developed software to automate integration of real time GPS data and convert these to GTFS-realtime. To date EACOMM, has developed GTFS feeds for Metro Manila, Davao, Cebu and Singapore and continues to assist various transit agencies across the globe in getting their data compliant with GTFS.
Bus Management Information System
In 2014, EACOMM Corporation developed an open source bus management information system for the Department of Transportation and Communications in cooperation with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board and the Advanced Science and Technology Institute of the Department of Science and Technology. The DOTC Bus Management Information System (BMIS) is envisioned to become a comprehensive Information Technology solution to address the need to manage, monitor and improve the services provided by public utility buses (PUB) not only in Metro Manila, but the rest of the country.The system consisted of a Bus registration system that integrates with LTFRB’s franchise database, a Bus Management System that tracks buses using GPS-GSM devices and provides data analytics on bus behavior, and a Bus Information System which broadcasts bus location and estimated arrival times to various platforms such as digital signages and mobile apps.
Transport Reservation System
Developed for one of the larger auto leasing companies in the Philippines, this transport reservation system is a turnkey management application that facilitates the day to day operations of a car rental business. This cloud-based application includes driver and vehicle management modules, on-line reservation, car maintenance, and billing/accounting.
In 2013, EACOMM Corporation was awarded the “Best Transit App” by the Department of Transportation and Communications for “Trip Barker” a mobile app and website that assist commuters in finding the most efficient mode of transportation for their daily commute. Trip Barker is a community-based Trip Planner for Mass Transit Systems. Users can report and share weather, traffic, and events in real-time with other users.
